"नहीं रहे मिसाइल मैन ए पी जे अब्दुल कलाम। भारत के 11वें राष्ट्रपति भारत रत्न अब्दुल कलाम का सोमवार को निधन हो गया है।
83 वर्षीय कलाम IIM शिलॉन्ग में एक समारोह में अचानक बीमार पड़ गए और उन्हें अस्पताल ले जाया गया। पूर्व राष्ट्रपति सोमवार शाम करीब 6:30 बजे IIM शिलॉन्ग में एक लेक्चर के दौरान गिर गए जहां से उन्हें अस्पताल ले जाया गया।"
India's 11th President APJ Abdul Kalam died on Monday evening at a hospital in Meghalaya , where he had gone to deliver a lecture. He was 83.
The former President, who was in office from 2002 to 2007, had collapsed during the lecture at the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong, around 6.30 pm. He was taken to the Bethany hospital

History of Doctor’s Day in India:
India has produced a number of eminent doctors. One such person is Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy (B.C Roy) a well-known Physician and second Chief Minister of West Bengal. The National Doctor’s Day is celebrated in the memory of Dr.B. C Roy whose birth day and death anniversary falls on 1st July. The event was started in the year 1991 to pay tribute to him. He started many institutions, hospitals and contributed a lot to the development of the Indian society.
 
Objectives of this day:

    To showcase the role and importance of doctors in our lives
    To thank the doctors for their self less service  and their contribution to the individuals and the community
