1) The rupee depreciated 30 paise to 64.15 against the dollar.
2) Prominent banker and non-executive chairman of India’s second largest software exporter Infosys, KV Kamath was on Monday appointed as the first president of BRICS bank.
3) West Bengal: 18 passengers were injured in low intensity bomb blast in Krishnanagar local train between Barrackpore-Titagarh.
4) Japan’s SoftBank Corp unveiled a management reshuffle on Monday, appointing investments head Nikesh Arora as president and naming him as a potential successor to CEO Masayoshi Son, as the telecoms conglomerate steps up its overseas expansion.
5) Maruti Suzuki launches new Celerio ZXI automatic priced at Rs 4.99 lakh.
6) Apple Inc has for the first time overtaken Xiaomi to become the largest vendor of smartphones in China.
