GOA :  CM Manohar Parrikar has launched an online Public Grievance Redressal System at the state secretariat.

KARNATAKA : government has decided to provide free education for girls across the state from Class 1 up to graduation in all public and aided private schools and colleges. Under this scheme, student must pay the fees first at the time of admission and later get it reimbursed by the government. Karnataka government is expecting around 18b lakh students whose parents’ income would be less than Rs.10 lakh to opt for this scheme and are planning to earmark Rs.110 crore for this scheme.
[Telangana and Punjab have also launched similar schemes. Telangana has announced free education for girls from kindergarten to post-graduation, and Punjab has extended the scheme until PhD.]

DIVYA DESHMUKH : has won gold in the girls’ Under-12 category at the World Cadets Chess Championship at Pocos de Caldas, Brazil.

WORLD’S HIGHEST SANDCASTLE : has built in Germany.

It’s 54.72 feet (16.68 meter) high and it was constructed in over 3 weeks. The new sandcastle is decorated with sand models of tourist attractions such as Athens’ Acropolis, Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.]

AHEMDABAD : the commercial capital of Gujrat has been formally accorded the status of India’s first World heritage City by UNESCO.

YE INDI KA TIME HAI : event was organized at National Institute of Technology, Raipur in Chhattisgarh.

YALLA KERALA : “Yalla” means “Lets go”. It has been launched to target tourists from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, The UAE, Bahrain and Qatar.

INDIGENOUS SNIPER RIFLE : India’s 1st Indigenous (स्वदेशी) Sniper Rifle was launched at the rifle factory in West Bengal. The factory has received orders from the CRPF and police forces of Haryana and Rajasthan.

ANIL BAIJAL : Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal banned dumping of waste at the Ghazipur Landfill site. He ordered immediate halt (विराम) to dumping of solid waste at the landfill and clearing the site within 2 years.
